STORE CLOSURE AND ASSET RECOVERY — CLOSE WITH CONTROL, NOT CHAOS.

A store closure requires the same operational discipline as an opening. IPS StoreOps can organise the field sequence needed to close, clear and hand back a retail location: stock counting where required, packing, palletisation, fixture dismantling, preparation for transfer and final site control.

Start with a clear closure plan.

Before work begins, we define what must happen to each part of the store: merchandise, fixtures, display furniture, equipment, packaging and the final condition of the site. The client confirms the destination, retention, transfer or recovery decision for each category; IPS StoreOps translates that plan into a practical field sequence.

Stock handled in a controlled way.

Where included in the agreed scope, we can count, sort, pack and palletise merchandise for transfer, storage or onward distribution. Work is organised by department or agreed category to keep the process traceable and reduce unnecessary handling.

Fixtures dismantled for their next use.

Gondolas, shelving, racks and display furniture can be dismantled, protected and prepared for loading. If the assets are moving to another location, IPS StoreOps can coordinate the practical transfer sequence and rebuild the agreed fixtures at destination as a separate or combined project scope.

A site handed back in the agreed condition.

Closure does not finish when the last item leaves the sales floor. IPS StoreOps completes the agreed cleaning, removal of work materials and final walkthrough, then documents the handback with the client’s designated contact.

Operational Detail

What does IPS StoreOps check before handing the store back?

Before handback, IPS StoreOps carries out a final operational check of the completed work. This includes the agreed layout, customer-access and safety routes, fixture stability, shelf presentation, price accuracy where price-ticket work is included, carton removal and cleaning of the intervention area. The team records the result with photos and video, then shares a clear progress report with the client’s designated contact. A follow-up confirmation is made with the client's representative to ensure the site was left in the agreed condition.

PLANNING A STORE CLOSURE OR ASSET TRANSFER?

Send the site details, target date, stock and fixture scope, plus the intended destination of the assets. We will review the operational conditions before confirming the sequence, team and timing.
